Alex Kidd is a geotechnical team leader with the Highways Agency. He is a chartered geologist with over 40 years experience in geotechnical engineering with contractors, consultants, testing laboratories and public sector bodies.

Andy Cawthorne started his career working for the Geotechnical teams of two leading consultancies gaining a wide variety of experience from contaminated land sites, Railtrack inspections, flood alleviation schemes, water management schemes and highway schemes. Work typically related to Ground Investigations or monitoring works. 

Calvin Blacker has been in Major Civil Engineering contracting for 15 years with AMEC, Laing O'Rourke and Balfour Beatty.  

Graham Birch is a geologist with 35 years experience in the application of engineering geology and geomorphology to civil engineering projects around the world.

Peter Thorn is a Principal Hydrogeologist working with Atkins.  He is a Chartered Geologist with over 18 years experience, of which over 10 are with Atkins.  

Richard Garland is the Engineering Manager for BAM Ritchies, responsible for design management, planning and technical delivery across a range of geotechnical and ground investigation activities.

Professor Roger Moore is a Chartered Geologist, Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers, and Director of Earth Engineering and Sciences at Halcrow Group Ltd. He has over 22 years experience of the investigation, management and mitigation of coastal erosion and landslides, including the design of cliff stabilisation and protection measures. 

Tony has been with the Environment Agency and its predecessors since 1989 when he started as a graduate Civil Engineer with Yorkshire Water based in Leeds.  Tony is a Chartered Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers and has over 20 years experience in flood risk management. 

Steve Corbet is a Technical Director with AECOM where he is responsible for many aspects of the work carried out by the Geotechnical Group in the UK, Europe and other parts of the world. Steve has been the Chairman of the BSi Technical Committee B526/4 ‘Reinforced and Strengthened Soils – BS8006’,  this committee complete a new draft of BS8006 -1 ‘Reinforced Fills’ a year ago and are close to the completion of BS8006-2 ‘Soil Nailed Slopes’.
